Baybayin Workshop for Buwan ng Wika

We decided to conduct another Baybayin workshop at Open House, La Union, for Buwan ng Wika. Open House allowed us to be more casual with the participants as space enable the freedom to relax and connect with people instantly.

We decided to test a new payment model for the workshop, charging a fixed rate tourist. At the same time, the residents of La Union still get to enjoy the pay-what-you-want scheme. Although the workshop is designed to run for 3 hours, the tourist's busyness did not entice some to participate. Albeit, we had multiple pocket sessions late in the afternoon until late at night with a smaller number of participants. Some courses only lasted for 25 minutes, with a minimal history lesson and more on learning how to read and write Baybayin. What surprised us with this workshop is we have more left-handed participants adding more left-handiness discussion to the session than usual.
